The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. Some have great mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through a clean.

It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger objects like books and broken toys.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and performs well however this is something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class.  robot vacuum cleaners best  is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.

The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and methodically. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surfaces. They can reach corners, baseboards, and other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it comes with a large selection of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. It has the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which is equipped with a microfiber pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to protect specific areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up pet hair. It was able capture some of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few nice jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to swap out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to contain multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
